We Need a New Conference Server!

SERVER UPDATE 09-18-20:

I have still been unable to find an audio / video server we can use that I can host on premises; however, I have found a way to build a hybrid server of sorts wherein I piggyback a text chat server and a very nice audio / video server running on 2 different OS platforms at the same time. I would prefer to use only the audio / video server as it has text ability, but so far there is no way to lock down the microphone when people enter the conference. Having the mic hot on entry can and will be a problem, so please keep praying. And if you can help, email me asap.

As some of you may already know, FLASH is ending all support as of December 31, 2020. And yes, this is why I have been unable to make some videos as well as blog entries the last week or so as I have been looking non-stop to replace our online poGm Church service Conference room, which as some are aware, has a partial foundation in FLASH.

I am currently looking at ways to migrate the server’s FLASH dependence with other technologies but so far, it’s not going so good as most third party companies are loaded with malware. (Yes, I am looking at Harman as well)

What I would like to do is completely replace the audio conference altogether; but that is the reason I have not been doing videos or blog posts as often as I would like lately. I have literally tested dozens of options on more than one server platform (Windows & Linux) and so far all of them fail in their ability to do as we need.

The hardest part at present is finding server software itself that can be self-hosted on premises. And no, I am not talking about how some companies define “self-hosting.” (*Discord) They force their customers to use their company servers but offer a virtual server they claim they can call their own. Problem is, it’s not really their own and such servers are open to “sniffing” for those that of you that know what I mean by that. It also means when their company servers go down for maintenance, a rogue employee or even something like a DOS attack, your server goes down with it.

We need our own server audio conference software. That being said.. If you know of one that is not on any public server (a big give away is their monthly pricing) and it can handle audio, video, public and private text, user registration options, banning, muting, moderating, user ability configs, extensive administration tools and self-branding to name a few, contact me as soon as possible.

PS.. I am also open to audio streaming servers that allow multiple log ins via different IP addresses as I already have created a Linux based text chat that if piggy backed with an audio server will work fine. And no, the Jitsi option won’t work.
